Dr Jamieson graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1989 and is a registered Specialist in Oral Surgery.
Dr Jamieson completed broad hospital-based postgraduate training at the Glasgow Dental Hospital & School. She was awarded the Diploma of Fellowship in Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow in 1993 specialising in Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine. In the same year she secured the post of Staff Grade Surgeon in Oral Surgery at Glasgow Dental Hospital and remained there until the year 2000 when she relocated to Edinburgh to resume the same post at the Edinburgh Dental Institute.
Dr Jamieson was recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Oral Surgery in 2000 and was re-graded to Associate Specialist in Oral Surgery. She continues to work at the Edinburgh Dental Institute and has more than 30 years service in the NHS. In addition to clinical work she has a significant role as Honorary Clinical Tutor at the University of Edinburgh, teaching and training postgraduate dental trainees in Oral Surgery, and is also involved at a national level in their selection & recruitment. Dr Jamieson also has wide experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Middlesbrough, Glasgow & Edinburgh.
The focus of Dr Jamieson’s clinical practice is whole patient-centred Oral Surgery, with minimal stress during treatment in an optimal clinical setting. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery, the provision of intravenous and inhalation sedation for adults and young people and the treatment of medically complex patients. She will provide these services at Vermilion’s Kelso & Edinburgh clinics.
