Dr Ross Paterson is a Consultant in Critical Care at the Western General Hospital, and offers anaesthetist-led conscious sedation for patients at Vermilion.
Dr Paterson obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) in 2000, his MD from the University of Aberdeen in 2003, Diploma of the Intercollegiate Board for Training in Intensive Care Medicine (DICM) in 2005, and in 2012 became a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. He has published over ten peer-reviewed papers in anaesthetic and critical care journals.
As dental implant surgery becomes more common among older patients with complicated medical histories, and as the surgical procedures become lengthier, having a consultant anaesthetist administer sedation offers patients complete reassurance that they will receive the highest standard of medical attention during their surgery. Dr Paterson lectures nationally on patient safety, and employs the latest in sedation techniques when working with the oral surgeons at Vermilion.
